Consumer What???

Consumer Consultants, here in Victoria in Australia, are people who have used mental health services whom are now employed by those services in a variety of roles, often around consulting with current users of services wit hthe aim of improving those services by a variety of activities; training, supporting consumers, Quality projects etc.

This role is well established, over about ten years, but has developed in different services in different ways, often determined by local and sometimes arbitrary factors . Recently Consumer Consultants have seen the need for a (very broad) consensus about what the job is about and what resources are needed.

This process was started at the Recent CC conference (see elsewhere on board) and is meant to be continued via, in part, this board.

You will see below three 'Working Group' sections, for each of the three areas identified.
